To close incisions ancient Indian medicine used a special type of biting ant.   They took an ant and placed the upper part of the jaw on one side of the cut and the lower part of the jaw on the other side.  When the ant bites down the incision is closed.  The doctor would then snap the head off the ant and the jaw would remain closed in a state of rigor.   The bigger the cut the more ants used.

The mitochondria is what creates energy in the human body.  If the power output of all the bodies 1,000,000,000,000,000, plus mitochondria were added together it would be around 80 watts.  The average light bulb needs 60 watts.  It's a good thing God created our bodies to be super efficient.

"The subcutaneous (under skin) fat, in the abdomen of your cadaver, is a perfectly good spot to stick your scalpel blade during dissection of the anterior shoulder and brachial plexus.   This allows for easy access to the blade and prevents anyone else from getting sliced."  Dr. Bohrman.

This makes the belly of the cadaver look like a "glorified" knife block.

After the death of Christ, very few "medical" universities and hospitals were established, because everyone thought that Christ was going to return shortly so there was no need to treat or cure any illness.  This  lack of medical care continued in Europe until the Crusades when doctors appeared to treat the injured crusaders.

Today in Bio Palpation class we learned how to palpate the coccyx.  This is useful because in later years we will learn that it is possible to manipulate the coccyx through the rectal cavity.... I'm thinking I'm not going to be  utilizing that procedure when I'm out of school.
